When planning our vacation to Cancun (one of the most popular and picturesque destinations in Mexico BTW😉) one of the key BIG decisions for us was whether to opt for an all-inclusive package or not...
In today's Blog, we will explore the benefits and considerations of choosing an all-inclusive experience, and share our experience, specifically at the luxurious Grand Fiesta Coral Beach Resort located in a prime position in the Hotel Zone on Cancun Beach.
So, let's dive into the PRO's & CON's that will help you make an informed decision and ensure an unforgettable trip to Cancun!
Starting with the PROS
The Convenience Factor: One of the major advantages of an all-inclusive package is the convenience it offers. With Grand Fiesta Coral Beach Resort's all-inclusive option, you can enjoy a worry-free vacation where everything is taken care of. From meals and drinks to activities and entertainment, you can indulge in a wide range of amenities without having to worry about carrying cash or constantly budgeting for expenses. I likened it to being on one of the MEGA cruise ships but with a HUGE KICK ARSE POOL!
Budgeting: An all-inclusive resort is a fantastic option for those looking to budget their vacation expenses. With all-inclusive packages, you pay a fixed price upfront, which covers accommodations, meals, drinks, and a range of activities and amenities. This eliminates the need to constantly worry about meal costs, entertainment expenses, or unexpected charges. By knowing the total cost of your trip in advance, you can effectively plan your budget without any surprises and BLOWOUTS! You also experience a sense of indulgence and luxury because you are not having to consider your budget at every turn!
Culinary Delights: For food enthusiasts, choosing an all-inclusive option is a no brainer! At Grand Fiesta Coral Beach Resort there was a HUGE array of dining opportunities. With over a dozen restaurants and bars, you can savor diverse cuisines and indulge in delectable dishes prepared by expert chefs. There is definitely something for everyone, from their Buffets to their signature Mexican restaurant, to their fine dining Italian or their beachfront Seafood dining, to spoiling yourself in their award winning 5 Star Diamond French immersive experience, the resort offers a culinary journey that will tantalize your taste buds. Ooh and did I mention 24hour ROOM SERVICE and mini bar!
Easy for families: When travelling with kids you want it to be EASY and a stay at an all-inclusive resort will be just that. Generally, All-inclusive resorts are an excellent choice for families traveling with kids, offering a wide range of amenities and services that cater specifically to their needs. These resorts understand the importance of creating a memorable and stress-free vacation for families, ensuring that parents can relax and children can have a blast. With all-inclusive packages, families have access to unlimited food and beverages, including kid-friendly options, eliminating the hassle of constantly searching for restaurants or worrying about the cost of meals. Additionally, many all-inclusive resorts provide exciting children's programs and activities, such as kids' clubs, water parks, and supervised entertainment, ensuring that young ones are entertained and engaged throughout their stay. Parents can enjoy peace of mind knowing that their children are in safe and engaging environments, allowing them to relax and make the most of their vacation together. The sheer size of the Resort: Typically, the all inclusive Resorts are MASSIVE and have far superior facilities than those that don't offer an all inclusive option. At Coral Beach, you literally did not have to leave the resort as everything was there and available to you, it took us all of our 3 days to explore the grounds of the resort, and even then we still had more we didn't get the opportunity to discover.
Next the CONS... which is actually quite a short list
Flexibility and Exploring Beyond the Resort: While the all-inclusive package provides a comprehensive experience, it's essential to consider your desire to explore beyond the resort. If you have a strong inclination to venture out and experience local eateries, attractions, and cultural sites, an a la carte option might be more suitable. This allows you the freedom to explore Cancun at your own pace and immerse yourself in the local culture.
If you do NOT enjoy fine dining, all day snacking, all day ice creams, gourmet snacks, 24-hour room service and mini bar and hate the idea of making your way through the entire cocktail list and tequilas then you may not find your values worth.
Ultimately, the choice between an all-inclusive package and a more traditional resort / hotel experience depends on your preferences, budget, and vacation style.
FOR US the choice was simple! When I envisioned vacationing in Cancun, Mexico, images of an opulent all-inclusive resort and over-indulgent luxury immediately came to mind. This type of experience has been something that had been on our family's bucket lists for some time, and now after experiencing it, I think all-inclusive may just be my NEW favorite way to travel.
