If the Islands of Great Keppel are not on your Qld Travel Bucket List then it is time to put them ON!
Great Keppel Island is the largest of the eighteen islands in the Keppel Group, and all up it covers an area of 1308 hectares.
It had been about 20 years since I had visited Great Keppel Island, back when the old resort was in full function, back when the slogan was 'Get Wrecked at Great Keppel' .
After the Resort closed, I think, myself as well as a lot of people thought the island itself, and the regions tourism closed down at the same time, which is far from reality.
There are multiple accommodation options across the different islands, from camping, glamping, cabins, beachfront cabins and houses. There is certainly something to suit everyone’s tastes.
