Bali's Back Baby! Quarantine FREE travel

Time to finally restock your wardrobe with Bintang singlets, pack the bordies and boards and dust off the passport, because Bali's back baby.... and its about BLOODY TIME if you ask us!!

The government is introducing a trial, commencing 14 March 2022 for entry without quarantine for foreign travellers to BALI!!

Currently, if you want to visit Bali, you have to undergo a period of time in Hotel Quarantine. If you've received 3 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine you must quarantine for 3 days in your city of arrival and If you've received two doses, you must quarantine for 5 days. Different rules apply to children and those recovered from Covid 19 and can be found here: FULL details here

For most, this wasnt appealing enough and the country struggled to regain the tourists it so desperately needed.

In a recent press conference, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs. Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan spoke to the NEW trail which will commence on 14 March 2022:

“Tourists who come must show proof of hotel payment that has been paid for at least four days or show proof of domicile in Bali for Indonesian citizens. Incoming tourists must have been fully vaccinated or have a booster. Tourists will then take a PCR test and wait in hotel rooms until negative test results come out,”

“After testing negative, the tourists will be free to do their activities with the procedures still being applied. Tourists will carry out another PCR test on their third day at their respective hotels. This is for our mutual safety,”

What we've learnt at a glance:

  1. Travelers must provide proof of a Hotel booking for a minimum of four days.

  2. Travellers must provide proof and have received a complete or booster vaccine doses against Covid 19.

  3. Travellers will need to take a PCR test upon arrival and wait for the negative result in their hotel room. (currently this is approximately a 24hour turnaround time but you can pay more to receive the results quicker)

  4. A repeat PCR test will be required on Day 3 at their Hotel.

  5. After receiving a negative result travellers are free to travel throughout Bali

“If the trial in Bali goes well, then we will expand the no-quarantine policy throughout Indonesia from 1st April or earlier than 1st April, 2022. However, once again, this policy will be carried out based on data on the development of the pandemic going forward,” Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan outlined.

Indonesia's made their announcement shortly after Thailand announced easing the Covid-19 restrictions for the international travelers also, requiring only one night quarantine for those fully vaccinated.

Both the Philippines and Australia opened their border to fully vaccinated foreign travelers earlier this month.

It looks like the World is finally starting to move into the 'Living with Covid-19' phase and this is a much needed boost that we've all been waiting for!.

So now the next question is... When will you be going?... let us know in the comments.
